PARENT PERKS
Parent Perks is a parent education opportunity for our DHMC families. After you drop your child off at school, stop by the conference room for a cup of coffee or tea and some good conversation. We will discuss a topic of interest related to parenting and/or Montessori philosophy each month. There is no charge and complimentary child care is available for younger, not yet enrolled children.Watch this space for the 2010/2011 Parent Perks schedule!
PARENT TALK: The Language of Response-Able Parenting
We also offer an evening series of parenting education classes entitled Parent Talk. These sessions introduce our parents to very effective ways of talking to children in order to build their spirit of independence and also help to handle parenting challenges like whining, fighting, and disobedience. The class is based on best-selling author and parenting expert Chick Moorman's books. Complimentary child care is offered on these evenings. Registration forms will be available in the front lobby and have been sent home in your child’s backpack. Our six week class sessions will be held as follows:
